Preparing a frozen produce brief

Distinguish whole products, cuts, pulps and blends, with packaging and handling requirements.

Specify the preparation

State whole, sliced, diced, cut or pulped, with cut dimensions or blend percentages where relevant. “Frozen” alone does not establish a specific freezing process.

If individually quick frozen processing or a specific standard is required, record it as a requirement and request supplier confirmation and evidence before agreement.

Review packing and cold-chain handling

Specify retail or industrial packs, weight, labeling and market language. Storage temperature, shelf life and transport are reviewed against the supplier specification, product and destination.

Request the quality and testing evidence required for the specific offer, with sampling, shipment acceptance and responsibility for temperature records where applicable.
